Animal Health

Challenges in the administration of both companion, performance and factory animals are very similar to that in human health and cover a wide range of infectious diseases.

Our work in Human Health is complemented by a growing range of Animal Health opportunities, and we are developing a pipeline of animal health vaccines, with one candidate now in clinical development.

Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (The Pirbright Institute)
Enesi is collaborating with The Pirbright Institute to evaluate a needle-free solid dose formulation of a live attenuated porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) vaccine with the added potential for enhanced thermal stability. Positive top-line results have demonstrated that the transcutaneously delivered ImplaVax® format generated both neutralising antibodies and T-cell responses equivalent to the standard liquid vaccine delivered either intramuscularly or subcutaneously via needle and syringe.
The Pirbright Institute is a UK-based global centre of excellence in research and surveillance of viral diseases of livestock and viruses that spread from animals to humans. The collaboration with Enesi has validated its approach using ImplaVax®-enabled solid-dose vaccination with a live virus vaccine.
